KUALA LUMPUR – Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday to comment any further on the meeting between opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim and the Agong.
Datuk Seri Anwar recently claimed he has majority support from MPs to oust Prime Minister Muhyiddin and form a new government.
The prime minister said that he just wanted to focus his efforts and managing the Covid-19 pandemic and the economy. He did not want to comment on what the opposition did in the Palace and will just leave it to the best judgement of the Agong.
Muhyiddin today spent almost an hour on Facebook Live anwering questions from local media regarding the issues with the pandemic and the government’s effort in managing the infection.
Mr Muhyiddin said that he would focus on the country’s biggest issues and the impact on it on the country. He also entertained questions regarding the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
He added that they noticed an number of increase in cases due to the high population with some reaching the yellow zone.
The Klang Valley, as Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and the southern districts are included on the country’s most densely populated area with over 20% of Malaysia’s population.
The country recorded the second-highest cases for the country with 660 new coronavirus cases recorded yesterday, Selangor recorded 74 cases. Muhyiddin said that Malaysia has been granted priority by China to received the coronavirus vaccines once available.
