48th Japan Academy Awards: Complete Lists of Winners and Categories

The 48th Japan Academy Award has been scheduled to take place in the month of March 14, 2025 and only a few lists of winners & the categories they fall in has been announced. Based on the available information the late voice actors Noriko Ohara and Nobuyo Oyama will be honored with special awards for their iconic roles in ‘Doraemon’.

The Japan Academy Film Prize was established in 1978 to commemorate the outstanding achievements in filmmaking, acting, direction, screenwriting, and more. Every year, the event will take place in March. Not only Japanese movies but they also honor the international movies by presenting the award called “Best Foreign Film of the Year”.

The following are the lists of winners and the categories which have been revealed as of now. The complete lists of winers hasn’t been revealed.

• Kingdom The Return of the General, Samurai Time Slipper, True Identity – Excellence Award for Animation
• Ganbatte Ikimasshoi, Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM, Haikyuu!!, The Movie: Battle at the Scavenger Hunt, Detective Conan The Million Dollar Five-Point Star Look Back – Excellence Award for Director
• Sato Shinsuke, Tsukahara Ayuko, Fujii Michihito, Miyake Sho, Yasud Junichi – Excellence Award for Screenplay
• Irie Yu Oshima Satomi, Kodera Kazuhisa/Fujii Michihito, Nogi Akiko (Let’s go to Karaoke), Nogi Akiko (The Last Mile), Yasuda Junichi – Excellence Award for Actor in a leading role
• Ayano Go, Kusanagi Tsuyoshi, Yamaguchi Makiya, Yamazaki Kento, Yokohama Ryusei – Excellence Award for Actress in a leading role
• Ishihara Satomi, Kamishiraishi Mone, Kawai Yumi, Kusabue Mitsuko, Mitsushima Hikari – Best Supporting Actor Award
• Uchino Masaaki, Osawa Takao, Okada Masaki, Sato Jiro, Yamada Takayuki – Best Supporting Actress Award
• Ashida Mana, Kiyohara Kaya, Tsuchiya Tao, Yamada Anna, Yoshioka Riho – Best New Actor Award
• Saito Asuka, Shibuya Nagisa, Yamada Anna, Akaso Eiji, Itagaki Rihito, Koshiyama Keita, Saito Jun, Morimoto Shintaro – Model Press Editorial Department

The wonderful event, 48th Japan Academy Award will take place from 9 pm to 10.54 pm and will be broadcasted in the Nippon TV Network.
