A group of Bersatu Youth gathers to support PM Mahathir’s possible power transition meet

PUTRAJAYA – Feb 21 marks the first Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council meeting for 2020 to discuss the country’s economic challenges and ways to maintain public support for the next nationwide election. Reports also states that power transition between Prime Minister Mahathir and PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to be brought up again.

Around 100 Bersatu Youth from Selangor arrived aroundc 8pm on Friday to show support for the party chairman.

National Bersatu Youth executive council member Mohd Fahim Mohd Farid says PM Mahathir confirmed via reports that he will step down after APEC, so there is no need to pressure him to resign before that.

He also told Anwar’s camp that they support Dr Tun and wait after APEC in Nov of this year. Dr Mahathir who is also PH’s chairman has been under pressure in recent months from Anwar’s supporters and calls to resign and hand over his position by May 2020 or give an exact date for the power transition.
