ABS-CBN’s Action-Drama “Incognito” Set to Premiere on Multiple Platforms in 2025

ABS-CBN’s highly anticipated action-drama series Incognito is gearing up to captivate audiences when it premieres in early 2025. This ambitious new series combines high-stakes action, emotional depth, and gripping suspense, marking a milestone in Philippine television. Slated for release on multiple platforms, including Netflix and various Kapamilya channels, Incognito promises a cinematic experience that viewers won’t forget.

The much-awaited trailer was revealed during a star-studded media launch held at the Dolphy Theatre in Quezon City. The event, attended by the lead cast, director Lester Pimentel, and Star Creatives business unit head Des De Guzman, offered an in-depth look at the series’ riveting plot and complex characters.

A Tale of Redemption Amid Chaos

Directed by Lester Pimentel, known for his success with Iron Heart, Incognito follows the intertwined lives of seven individuals grappling with personal struggles. Each character embarks on a journey of redemption, finding themselves united by a common enemy that forces them into dangerous, high-stakes missions.

“This is a story about seven individuals who are going through immense challenges,” Pimentel shared. “It’s their moment to aspire for a second chance and rewrite their lives.”

The narrative explores themes of resilience, redemption, and camaraderie, creating a multi-layered story that goes beyond traditional action dramas. The series is designed to resonate with audiences through its realistic portrayal of mental health struggles and its characters’ emotional arcs.

A Cast Transformed by Rigorous Training

One of the show’s standout elements is the intense preparation that went into bringing its characters to life. The cast underwent a four-month training program to ensure they could perform their roles with authenticity and precision. This included martial arts, Muay Thai, tactical combat, and war games, along with lessons on weapon handling and coordinated team movements.

Jake Jennings highlighted the dedication required, stating, “We all went through extensive training for four months to ensure our performances looked and felt real.”

Maris Racal shared how the training allowed her to embody her character’s technical skills fully, while Ian Veneracion emphasized the importance of chemistry in executing complex action scenes. “We learned room-clearing techniques for entering buildings, which tested not just our individual skills but also how well we worked as a team,” he said.

Meet the Characters

Each of the seven characters brings unique skills and complex backstories, adding richness to the series:

  • Max Alvero (Ejay Estrada): A skilled hacker and expert in hand-to-hand combat, providing the team with a technological edge.
  • Tomas (Jake Jennings): A courageous yet rough fighter who comes from humble beginnings.
  • Gabriela Rivera (Maris Racal): A master of espionage with exceptional infiltration skills.
  • Miguel Tecson (Baron Geisler): A sniper and medic haunted by a troubled past, balancing precision with inner turmoil.
  • Greg Baterno (Ian Veneracion): A seasoned military tactician dealing with unresolved personal issues.
  • Jose Bonifacio (Richard Gutierrez): An ex-Navy SEAL seeking a return to his former life in the military.
  • Andres Malvar (Daniel Padilla): A resilient former scout ranger whose strength and determination inspire the group.

Balancing Action with Emotional Depth

While the series is action-packed, it also delves deeply into the personal lives and emotional struggles of its characters. The blend of physical and psychological challenges creates a narrative that goes beyond explosions and gunfights, focusing instead on human resilience and growth.

“It’s not just about the battles or the action scenes,” Ian Veneracion explained. “Each character’s journey adds a unique dimension, making the story more relatable and engaging.”

Baron Geisler emphasized the show’s exploration of mental health, noting, “The series sheds light on the emotional and mental struggles of its characters. It’s a story about finding redemption in the face of adversity.”

An Expansive, Multi-Platform Launch

Incognito is set to make its debut on Netflix on January 17, 2025, allowing international viewers to experience the drama firsthand. The series will then become available on iWantTFC on January 18, followed by broadcasts on the Kapamilya Channel, Jeepney TV, TV5, and A2Z starting January 20, 2025.
