The Malaysian screenwriter, director and producer who is well known for her best writing in “Crazy Rich Asians”, Adele Lim is said to team up with the “The Princess Diaries” lead actress Anne Hathway. Adele Lim has been nominated in the prestigious accolades Golden Globe and Oscar for her outstanding screenwriting in ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ & ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ respectively. She made her directorial debut in 2023 with the release of “Joy Ride” globally.
Adele crafted her big screen career by carving through her roots which comes from the television industry. She began her career as a script coordinator in 2000 which made her end up in the variety of roles in the creative business. During her interview with Variety sha has told that,
“As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I’m beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core (tenets) of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide”.
Anne Hathway who never disappoints her fans with her stellar performances in every character which she chooses. This year, she came up with a rom-com, drama movie “The Idea Of You”, which was based on Robinne Lee’s novel with the same title.
“This is the first time I’ve known myself this well. I don’t live in what others think of me. I know my own mind and I am connected to my own feelings.
A lot of people wouldn’t give me roles because they were so concerned about how toxic my identity had become online.” said Anne Hathway during her interview to Vanity Fair.
Anne Hathway, confirmed this collaboration on her instagram with the caption stating “Miracles happen. The fairy tale continues.” This movie will be produced by both Debra Martin Chase and Anne Hathway herself. Naia Cucukov and Melissa Stack will executive produce directed by Adele Lim and the scripts would be written by Flora Greeson who is well known for her screenwriting in “The High Note”.
