METRO MANILA – Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. confirmed on Sunday through his social media account that he has been tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement released on his Facebook official account, he and his family immediately had been tested after someone on their household and staff member contracted the coronavirus.

Revilla assured the public that he’s okay and that he’s grateful that his family tested negative of the virus.

The senator also confirmed that he attended the Senate on Monday and was out on Tuesday to observe the 40th day of the death of his father and former senator Ramon Revilla Sr.

He was the 4th Senator who was tested postive for Covid-19. Koko Pimentel III, Sonny Angara and Miguel Zubiri were also tested positive earlier this year.

Revilla is currently in self-quarantine and under observation. As of August 9, Philippines now has 130,000 COVID-19 cases, 67,673 recoveries and 2,270 deaths.
