Contemporary Amperex Technology Company Limited, the global leader in EV battery manufacturers, is now planning a secondary public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange to raise not less than US $5 billion. CATL proposed its Hong Kong listing as tensions between China and other nations grew including its recent additions to the US. Where the blacklist of companies allegedly collaborating with the Chinese military. CATL has dismissed these claims asserting that the designation is a “mistake” and will have limited impact on its business operations.
Through this listing, CATL seeks to expand its capacity to globalize and source capital to meet the demand for EV batteries. It continues directly or indirectly to play an essential role in global transition to sustainable transportation.
