Every household in Singapore can from 13th May 2025 receive $500 worth of Community Development Council (CDC) vouchers under the latest tranche of government’s support initiative. Launched during the COVID-19, this is the seventh round of the scheme to alleviate the cost of living. The first half of the vouchers ($250) is redeemable in participating supermarkets, and the other half is stipulated for a use in hawkers and heartland merchants. This move is one of Budget 2025’s larger plans including SG60 vouchers, U-save rebates, and educational top-ups.
$665 Million May Be Injected into the Economy Through CDC Vouchers
The Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong officially launched the CDC Voucher Scheme 2025 (May) at Nee Soon South Community Club yesterday (May 13). This rollout, hosted by the five Mayors, is estimated to route about $665 million dollars in spending amongst participating vendors. The government is also preaching digitalisation, as even more heartland merchants are embracing e-payments. The vouchers can be claimed at go.gov.sg/cdcv and are valid until December 31, 2025.
This round is a continuation to the prior $300 CDC vouchers given out in January, 2025, which also lapse at year-end. Together the two rounds give households $800 in support. Up until May 12, 97.3% of the households visited claimed January’s vouchers, of which 83.4% were already spent.
Digital Support Available for Claiming Vouchers
In order to claim the vouchers, households have to log in through the Singpass at the official website. Unlike in previous rounds there will be no physical notification letters. A specific link will be sent out by SMS from “gov.sg” and can be passed around to other household members. For those in need, especially seniors and people with disabilities, help is there – at Community Centres (CCs), SG Digital Community Hubs and through more than 200 volunteers from schools and public agencies.
In addition, between May 13 and 26, SG Digital Office’s Ambassadors will help residents to spend digital vouchers. Singaporeans are advised not to share bank login details or even download third party apps as all redemption is conducted through official channels only.
