Coronavirus: Malaysia orders Muslims to perform special prayers

KOTA BARU – Malaysia encouraged Muslims to perform special prayers to seek God’s intervention against the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) outbreak.

Kelantan mufti Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad said congregational prayers were channels for Muslims to ask for Allah’s help against outbreak and diseases

Shukri also believed that the virus was a test from God on the people in different countries. He reminds the Muslims to always seek Allah’s protection. To date, eight people in Malaysia, all Chinese nationals were all tested positive for the coronavirus. The World Health Organization has declared an international emergency over the outbreak.
