At the press meeting today, the director general confirmed that the additional 18 cases makes the positive cases to 117. From the total, 19 are identified as patient-under-investigation (PUI), 96 from close contact and two more from humanitarian missions.

From the second wave of cases, that is case 23 to 117, only six were found PUI and had travel history outside the country. While the rest were involved in the cluster from the same close contacts and so were linked to one another.

He also shared that two cases were placed in the ICU since yesterday at Hospital Sungai Buloh and Hospital Sultanah Aminah in Johor with breathing ventilators.

This states that medical practitioners must ensure the confidentiality of a patient’s personal information is maintained unless the patient discloses his or her information voluntarily.

He also said that the MoH is currently conducting Covid-19 surveillance to discover any sporadic and local cases in the country through influenza-like-illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) patients, with no history of traveling to affected countries or been in contact with those positive Covid-19 cases.
