The Day 3 matches of AO 2025 took place within Melbourne Park across key arenas including Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, and John Cain Arena and it was a blend of various emotions and exciting tones from the Champion players and the emerging talents after the end of every match.
Men’s Singles
The unleashing emotion of the seasoned title winner of ATP, Daniil Medvedev was the highlight of Day 3. Medvedev encountered Kasidit Samrej and their game went on for five sets and was testing the patience of Medvedev. The match ended with the 6-2, 4-6, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 & the victory of Medvedev against Samrej.
“The camera was very, very strong, because my racquet didn’t handle the damage, but the camera did… very strong. I was very surprised” said Medvedev after laughing off the outburst.
The notable winners of the third day are the Frenchman Gael Monfils five set win against Giovanni Mpetshi, 7-6(7), 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-7(5), 6-4. Crowd were cheering to the dominant performance of Taylor Fritz a fourth seed player against Jenson Brooksby in straight sets (6-2, 6-0, 6-3), challenging five set of Danish Holger Rune (4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4), and battle of Matteo Berrettini against Cameron Norrie & a tough farewell for Nick Kygios by Jacob Fearnley with the scores 7-6(7-3), 6-3, 7-6(7-2).
Women’s Singles
A convincing win over the 16 year old Jones (6-1, 6-1)
