Dr M: Date of power transition up to me

PUTRAJAYA – Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says the party presidential council has given its full confidence in him on when to step down as prime minister, which he will be after the Apec Summit in November.
Pakatan presidential council met and made the decision late Friday (Feb 21).
“Everyone has left it up to me to decide when I should handover my post.I will make a decision.”
“but tonight, there is no time, no fixed date,” the Prime Minister said after the presidential council meeting.” he said after the presidential council meeting.
PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the agreement within the party was for Dr Mahathir to continue governing the country.
“Our position is clear – No interruption. Our commitment is to ensure PM Mahathir is able to carry out his duties as prime minister with our full support.
Mahathir had repeatedly said that he would only step down after Malaysia hosts the Apec Summit in November but no definite date and time given as of the moment.
PKR’s veteran group Otai Reformist 1998 want Anwar to become prime minister in May. However, Anwar reiterated that there shouldn’t be any pressure on Dr. Mahathir on the issue of the leadership transition.
