Faizal Azumu is the 13th Perak MB

IPOH: Perak Indigenous Party (UN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu has been appointed as the 13th Perak Menteri Besar under the new government of the National Alliance (PN).

Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Kol (R) Datuk Abd Rahim Mohamad Nor said that Faizal received the largest number of support from the state assemblymen.

“In accordance with Article XVI, Clause 2 (a) of the Perak Darul Ridzuan Government Act, in the judgment of His Majesty, the Honorable Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, the Chenderiang State Assemblyman, has gained the confidence of most members of the State Assembly to be elected as The 13th Silver Chief Minister, “he said in a statement today.

The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Istana Iskandariah in Kuala Kangsar at 3:30PM today. Faizal, 49, submitted his resignation as Mentri Besar after Bersatu pulled out of the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
