Gilas Pilipinas suffered a 91-84 defeat against Chinese Taipei in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers on Thursday at the Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium. This marks the first loss in 12 years for the Philippines against Chinese Taipei in men’s basketball.
Brownlee’s Heroics Not Enough
Though the team lost Justin Brownlee delivered an outstanding performance. He scored 39 points with an impressive 8-of-11 three-point shooting. He also added eight assists and six rebounds, but his efforts fell short as Gilas struggled to maintain their comeback.
