First Solar Eclipse of 2025: Know Details

March 29, 2025, will deliver the first solar eclipse of the year when observers from numerous continents can witness this amazing natural event. India will not see this spectacle, but many other countries worldwide have already prepared to view the solar eclipse on March 29, 2025.

According to NASA observations, the partial solar eclipse will appear in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and both Arctic regions. During this cosmic event the Moon passes between Earth and Sun to create a partial sun darkening while shedding unique shadows across the land.

Key Observations and Timings:

  • The eclipse starts over the United States at 4:50 am Eastern Daylight Time.
  • Early morning sunlight will be most obstructed at 6:47 am Eastern Daylight Time.
  • The solar eclipse will end exactly at 8:43 am Eastern Daylight Time

The partial solar eclipse will be best seen in big cities across North America, including New York and Boston, plus Canadian regions such as Montreal and Quebec. It will also be noticeable in certain parts of Siberia, the Caribbean as well as different places in Europe and Africa.

Many observers take eclipse viewing as a risk because their eyesight is always at stake. Experienced astronomers recommend using tested solar viewing glasses to secure your eyes during the event. People who stare directly at sunlight without safety gear face severe and permanent damage to their eyes.

Although the eclipse will create an amazing spectacle in the sky, its path does not extend to the territory of India. The Moon’s shadow avoids passing through India, allowing its national observers no view of this rare event.

Residents of accessible regions hold a unique chance to see one of nature’s most impressive solar phenomena. Viewers of celestial bodies and astronomers should prepare their equipment and observe with safe practices.
