A video posted on Facebook by his daughter, former vice mayor Janella Estrada, San Juan Police chief Police Colonel Jaime Santos who spearheaded the arrest was seen explaining to the former politician that he was arrested for violating social distancing measures.

“Social distancing was not followed,” Santos told the reporters in an interview.

Estrada previously slammed San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, for allegedly sabotaging their relief operations over its alleged violation of social distancing and lack of permit from the city government.

San Juan mayor Francis Zamora  said Estrada has been distributing relief goods in various barangays in the city while disregarding the guidelines and regulations set by their Interior Department.

Zamora urged organizations to first coordinate with the local goverment on their relief operations. “We are focusing all our efforts on eradicating COVID-19 in San Juan, not on politics,” he added.
