One of the most widely played Roblox games, Grow a Garden has released its newest update titled the Zen Update that alters normal gameplay into a more calm and deep atmosphere. The update will be released on July 19 and it adds new mechanics such as mutation fruit, Japanese inspired cosmetics and adorable new pets. The developers are trying to increase the interaction between the players and the nature-related settings, through more complicated layers of events that unfold around the game; mainly emphasizing on the element of patience and slow reward.
Among the most discussed changes in the update, one can speak about the Zen Event that comes out every hour and revolves around the principle of Tranquil Mutation. Now, players can mutate fruits that are in their garden to peaceful forms. They may be remitted to a character in the game called the Zen Channeller. After a sufficient quantity of mutated fruits is logged, it is used to propagate a Zen Tree which is one of the key elements of the new event system.
Zen Tree has five growth steps and every step spawns rewards and prospects to advance the game. This gamified version of plant growth is a reflection of actual gardening with an extra dose of excitement of reaching a virtual milestone.
The other addition that can be highlighted is the Tanuki pet, which is an important character that currently runs the Zen Shop. Players can receive a new in-game currency by submitting Tranquil Plants to the Tanuki, it is called Chi, and it can be traded in exchange of exclusive items, decorations, and rewards.
The Zen Shop also introduces new seeds and crops. These include:
It is also possible to purchase a Zen Seed Pack, and among the varieties available there are Monoblooma, Serenity, Taro Flower, and Zen Rocks, all of which are modifications to match with the relaxing theme.
The Japanese-inspired design Aesthetics of the update are largely based on the standard Japanese design of gardens. Cosmetic additions include items such as:
These objects can be used to customize gardens and enable the players to show their creativity but still keep to the theme of peaceful farming. The decor-based updates have masses of attraction to the mixed user population of Roblox, particularly those who are more into the aesthetic features of the video games.
It has added a new tamed line-up which will be available by using the new Zen Egg. This egg has a potential of laying six new pets:
Each pet has distinct animations and may interact differently with players and the garden environment. Among these, the Kitsune stands out as the first prismatic pet and has the lowest hatch rate, adding a layer of rarity and value.
Besides major features, the update brings smaller enhancements:

Some early feedback in the gaming circles indicate that the Zen Update is being well accepted. The sedative effect that it creates in the players has been a welcome addition, particularly to those who need an escape in competitive or rushed Roblox games.
Nature, design and rewards also give you something new to discover in the update as a novice and die-hard gamer. The regular occurrence and progress-related difficulties developed a circle of interaction that keeps the players coming back at every hour to engage themselves in Zen related activities.
