International Day of Education: UAE underscores commitment to educational equity

The UAE is commemorating the International Day of Education on January 24. The Gulf state has consistently positioned itself at the forefront of global efforts to offer quality education, especially in regions facing humanitarian crises.

In recent years, education has become a cornerstone of the UAE’s foreign aid. Since 2018, the nation has contributed $200 million to the Global Partnership for Education to support educational programmes in different countries across the globe until 2025.

Understanding UAE’s notable impact on global education

Since its inception in 2020, MBRGI’s Digital School has expanded rapidly, reaching more than 160,000 students across 13 countries. The platform offers content in multiple languages and has trained at least 2,500 digital teachers.

Underscoring its commitment to education equity, the UAE – through the Digital School – has launched a programme to support the continuity of education in Lebanon, benefiting tens of thousands of students in its first phase.
