On Thursday, an unexpected event took place in JAL (Japan Airlines) due to a cyber attack in both of their internal and external systems which led to the delay of flights early the day at 7.30 am. JAL reported that they had removed the router which had been causing the disruption for the system before 9 am.
“We have identified the scope of the impact and are currently checking the status of the system recovery” – JAL
It is reported that dozens of flights have been delayed both domestic and international at several Japanese airports. Later, ANA Holdings stated that there were no signs of cyber attacks in the system of JAL and it was just a technical glitch caused by the American Airlines who landed the flights an hour on the Christmas eve earlier this week which interrupted the aviation systems, and travel plans of thousands of passengers.
The glitch which occurred earlier today caused discomfort and joit to many domestic passengers.
“I haven’t been able to log into the app for a long time. I was able to use it last night, but I haven’t been able to connect since this morning,”said a passenger who was traveling to Okinawa.
Japan’s airport has encountered incidents caused due to the cyber attack, technical glitch, and operational safety failure due to human errors. And the January 2024 “Runway Collision” between JAL Airbus A350-900 and a Japan Coast Guard De Havilland Canada Dash 8-Q300 is reported as a human error today (December 26,2024).
