ng wants to ‘put on olympic show’
Jason Ng Tai-long, Hong Kong triathlete, wants to “give Hong Kong fans a show” at the Paris Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad.
Jason Ng Tai-long claimed an Asia Triathlon Sprint Championships silver medal last month. Jason Ng said that he was unhappy with his fifth-place at September’s Asian Games. Two months later, he became the second male triathlete from the city to finish on the podium in the sprint race and claimed the silver medal.
Jason Ng is among the triathletes thriving under the stewardship of head coach Andrew Wright. He wants to win big at the Paris Olympics 2024.
Hong Kong triathlete Ng said, “Having teammates performing at a high level creates competition, and pushes the sport in Hong Kong to improve.”
He further said, “I want to qualify for the Olympics for Hong Kong and give the home fans a show.” He is defying all the odds to qualify for Olympics 2024.
He is training for roughly 30 hours per week to put on a show in the Olympics 2024. He aims to win big with his hard work and religious training.
He is ranked among the world’s top 100 elite triathletes. He joined HKUST under the Student Athletes Admissions Scheme. He received an engineering degree at the University of Science and Technology.
Ng said, “I rode in the wind tunnel, then would sit with the PhD students, to assess the results: how they would affect cyclists, and what would make us faster.”
Olympics 2024 is an upcoming international multi-sport event. It is scheduled to take place from 26 July to 11 August 2024 in Paris, France’s capital.
