TWICE’s Jihyo has declared that she is starting her brand-new company, EMITHAUS, after leaving JYP Entertainment after 21 years with the company. On 21st October 2026, the South Korean singer revealed it by writing a handwritten letter on Instagram. The Jihyo New Agency announcement is a huge professional step for her to take, as it will enable her to work on her own projects alongside TWICE.

Jihyo created EMITHAUS to discover new creative possibilities and to run her own career. Yonhap News Agency reports that it is her aspiration to become an artist. The name is inspired by the word “emit”, which means to express art.
Why Jihyo Decided to Leave JYP Entertainment
Jihyo started her journey with JYP Entertainment as a young trainee and worked for years on end to make her debut for TWICE in 2015. In her Soompi announcement, she expressed her gratitude to the company for nurturing her and explained her wish for new opportunities through her own.
Will Jihyo Continue Her Activities With TWICE?
As for the rumors of JYP’s departure from TWICE, Jihyo has confirmed that they didn’t leave JYP Entertainment. She wants to keep joining in with her group friends.She wants to keep on doing group activities with her group friends. What EMITHAUS Means for Jihyo’s Solo Career
Jihyo has experience with independent performances, after releasing her debut solo EP, Zone, in 2023. EMITHAUS might provide more freedom of music direction, collaboration, and creative decisions. But there is no definite plan to release new solo albums.
