New Beginnings for a K-Drama Queen Jun Ji-hyun! What’s next after leaving her agency?

Actress Jun Ji-hyun decided to part her way with the agency ‘IEUM HASHTAG’ after three years of association. There are no reports quoting any rift or resentment between the actress and the agency but the industry insiders state that Jun Ji desires for a greater creative freedom. Also, she wishes to pursue her career in a fresh direction and scripts. This move of Jun Ji is observed as a strategic one because she is now in search of new stories that explore diverse roles in both films and dramas. Her departure from the agency is marked as a new beginning of her established career. 

“Our exclusive contract with Jun Ji Hyun has ended, and we have decided not to renew the contract.” – IEUM HASHTAG

For now, Jun Ji Hyun is completely involved in her upcoming projects which includes ‘Gunche’ and ‘Tempest’. Tempest is an upcoming series which has been scheduled to premiere on Disney+ this 2025. In this series, Jun Ji plays the role of an UN Ambassador ‘Seo Mun Ju’ who is trying to expose the conspiracy around the Korean peninsula along with a special agent. On the other hand, she plays the lead role in a zombie survival thriller movie “Gunche” which is directed by Yang Sang-ho who is widely known for the blockbuster movie ‘Train To Busan’. The release date of both the projects are yet to be finalised.
