The popular Japanese television presenter, host and former member of the boy band SMAP (Sports Music Assemble People) has been alleged of sexual misconduct by a woman, which raised huge controversy around him and it began to ruin his television career too. The leading broadcasters of the Japan Nippon and TV Asahi have taken immediate actions by barring him from their television programs (hosted by him). On the other hand, Fuji Television and TBS are proceeding with their investigations into this matter.
TV Asahi has officially announced the cancellation of six prominent shows which includes “Masahiro Nakai’s Saturday Gathering” from their broadcast due to various reasons on Wednesday. All these initiatives have been taken after the allegations over Nakai.

“Based on various options from viewers and reactions from advertisers, the programming executives directly informed Nakai that it was no longer possible to continue broadcasting ‘Nakai Masahiro’s Saturday Meeting’ and he understood that. We are currently considering whether to cancel the show from April onwards”, a statement of TV Asahi on their official website.
