This year many South Korean movies that were previously released are premiering in Japan this year. To promote both the movies and the inter-cultural exchange such initiatives are carried out consistently. ‘Picnic’ is a 2024 Korean movie directed by Kim Yong-gyun. ‘Picnic’ is a journey of an old woman Go Eun-sim who is living alone in the densely populated Seoul city. One day her best friend during the school days, Geum-soon and her in-law visits Eun-sim surprisingly. And they all decide to visit the hometown of Eun-sim, it is her first ever visit to the hometown in all these 60 years. From there the movie navigates and turns the pages of her sweetful memories that look so real that even the audience will reminisce about their good chapters of life. This movie is not just an entertainment but a lifetime experience from the perspective of an aged woman.
