On 1st August, Kuok Hui Kwong was appointed as the new CEO of the luxurious hotel chain, which signalled a major change in its leadership. Kuok Hui Kwong is a 47-year-old sixth child of Robert Kuok out of eight children. She is since June 2016 on the board of Shangri-La Asia as an executive director and became chairman in January 2017.
