YTN’s radio FM is the only news FM in South Korea to broadcast latest news, weather, traffic, and some music for 24 hours. It is broadcasted through FM 94.5MHz. After the YTN Radio news at 11.30 a.m., the program named “Attorney In-Seop Cho’s Counseling Center” gets aired at 11.40 a.m.

This show primarily focuses on the legal discussions and delivers legal advice on issues including personal, marital issues, divorces, child custody, and the problems which are involved in a relationship. One such incident which was discussed and aired is about a man whose marriage was called off after his girlfriend and fiancee, who broke up with him. It was told that she was in an affair with her classmate while preparing for marriage.

The man was in a relationship and he was dating his girlfriend who was three years junior to him. Deciding to arrange a pomp, he booked a honeymoon house and commenced to distribute the wedding invitations to all his kin and kith. When all the wedding arrangements were at the final stage, his girlfriend said,

“I recently spent a night unexpectedly with a friend who is a college classmate. I have met several times since then. I can’t get married because of my guilt”.

This led the man to a perplexity, so he raised questions for legal advice to get back his money, and the properties which he gave for her.

“I want to know how I can get damages from my girlfriend and junior, whether I can get back the luxury bag and watch I bought for them, and what to do with the reservation fee for the wedding hall that I have already paid and the penalty that I have to pay if I give up moving in on a lease” a voice which showcased confusion and betrayal asked the Lawyer Cho.

“When the engagement is lifted, you can claim damages from the other party who is negligent. You will be responsible for not only property damage but also mental pain, that is, alimony. You can claim the wedding hall reservation fee, and down payment for newlyweds that may not be returned while preparing for the wedding.

We can hold male juniors responsible for the cancellation of their engagement. However, it is difficult to get back items that were gifted to win the other person’s heart during a relationship because they are gifts and the ownership is transferred to the other person” advised the Lawyer Cho.

It is reported that the cases of infidelity and relationship breakdowns are rising regularly in South Korea.
