Two years ago, Sir Jim Ratcliffe visited Manchester United’s Carrington training base and described it as “a gloomy hospital basement.” That blunt truth sparked action. Today, after a £50 million transformation, Carrington is no longer dull — it’s a bright, modern powerhouse designed to help players perform at their peak.
Once lagging behind other clubs’ facilities, Carrington now boasts world-class design from top architects Foster + Partners, completed in just one year. Sir Jim Ratcliffe summed it up: “Manchester United is one of the world’s biggest brands, so having a modern training facility was essential — and now we have it.”
For Manchester United supporters across Asia, this upgrade means the team is better prepared to compete at the very top. A stronger, fitter squad leads to more exciting performances — and more reasons to cheer in living rooms, sports bars, and fan parks from Mumbai to Manila.
