Marina Ishikawa Wins “Miss Japan Grand Prix and Miss Kimono”
The beauty contest sprouted in the 1950s in Japan as “Japanese Beauty” to encourage the women in activities which foster their involvement in the society and grow as an individual stronger. It is strongly believed that this will help the country’s development. Today, many successful women are found in various fields like music, art, medical, film direction, MNC companies, entrepreneur, politics and more. On January 27, the final round of 57th Miss Japan Contest 2025 took place on January 27 in Shinjuku, Tokyo at Keio Plaza Hotel and Marina Ishikawa, a 19 year old actress has won the title ‘Miss Japan Grand Prix and Miss Kimono’. “When the Miss Japan study sessions first started, I was really frustrated with myself for not being able to immediately express my thoughts and realizations in my own words, and I was really envious of the other finalists” said Marina with happy tears “First of all, I want to convey my joy to my mother. My mother helped me with managing my health and preparing my costume. I’m still 19, at the end of my teens, but I would like to work hard on various activities as a representative of young people who carry the future on their shoulders” she added. Miss Japan is a beauty contest which aims to polish the three aspects which includes inner self, outer appearance, and behavior.
