Netflix’s Culinary Class Wars: A Food Lover’s Guide to Celebrity Chef Restaurants

Culinary Class Wars is a Netflix show, which is now trending worldwide in 2024, 80 young talented chefs (Black Spoons) against 20 famous chefs (White Spoons) to win 300 million won. When the cooking show comes to an end consumers want to taste the food they watched being prepared by their favorite chefs. With this detailed guide, you will be shown the restaurants of some of the most famous participants of the show.

The Culinary Powerhouses: Meet the Judges

The famous South Korean showman and restaurant owner Paik Jong-won has created a large restaurant chain around the world. The diverse eating environments he designed are from the basic eatery of Paik’s Bibim to the specialty store of Paik Boy Pizza. This means that even with outlets in Singapore, people can savor their dishes without having to go through their wallets. These restaurants represent the ideals of Paik as he aims at the masses to provide good Korean food as well seen from his judging demeanor on the show.

On the opposite side of the spectrum is Ahn Sung-Jae to whom the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Mosu, is a pinnacle of fine dining. Present in Hong Kong today, Mosu is a spot for luxurious dining that costs at least HKD 680 per person for the Lite Lunch menu. From his judging criteria at the show, which was rather perfectionist, to his restaurant which is, indeed, perfect both in presentation and in the kind of Korean food that it offers. This venue is highly anticipated by food lovers and will be again opened at the end of 2024.

White Spoons: Where creativity and passion for food creation are embodied

Of all the members of White Spoons Choi Hyun-seok is the most versatile and charming. His restaurant list consists of Choi Dot which is a Korean-European blend restaurant where his much-acclaimed vongole pasta can be savored. Choi is also behind Central Reducer, which offers modern Chinese food, and Dahlia Dining which is vegan and avant-garde. The above-considered culinary business ventures prove diverse and demonstrate that Choi is capable of performing a wide range of cuisines.

Having impressed audiences through his leadership and Korean-American background, Edward Lee serves Southern flavors to Louisville, Kentucky. 610 Magnolia is his restaurant that serves food that infuses his Korean roots and those of the American South. Previously recognized as a nine-time James Beard Award nominee, Lee’s food represents his story and experience making 610 Magnolia a noteworthy dining place for anyone visiting the United States.

Black Spoons: New Faces in the Culinary Industry

Triple Star whose real name is Scott Kang Seung-won is now a leading contender. His Trid restaurant serves fine dining, and, thanks to carefully thought-through knifework and a creative take on dishes, it has become one of the most popular places to book a table in Seoul. As for the sous-chef, Kang has been a worthy addition to the team originally influenced by Ahn Sung-Jae as his sous-chef, the dishes he adds finesse to are quite refined and impressive to both the judges and competitors.

Napoli Matfia or Kwon Seong-jun has continued to impress audiences with a blend of Italian and Korean dishes. Since participating in the show, his restaurant Via Toledo Pasta Bar has gained more customers than before.
