New Year Grand Sumo Tournament: Takarafuji Defeats His rival Mitakeumi

Mitakeumi is widely recognised for his powerful style and competitive spirit in the Sumo wrestling tournaments of Japan. He exhibits his perseverance by attending the New Grand Sumo Tournament consistently and has won his first Grand Sumo Championship title in 2017. High-powered pushing, versatile techniques, thrusting attacks, and a dominant wrestler are the notable qualities observed in the star Sumo Wrestler Mitakeumi.

On January 16, 2025, the fifth day of the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament the 7th ranked Sumo wrestler Mitakeumi encountered his third loss against Takarafuji the 8th ranked player. He registered his first and second loss against the opponents, Kazuyamamoto and Okatsuuma respectively. Meanwhile, he has registered two wins in total in the tournament as of now.
