Nintendo Switch 2 Unveiled: Bigger Screen, Voice Chat, and 4K Gaming

Nintendo has announced the new Switch 2 to stir the gaming world with some fabulous features. This console of the future has a new C button to let players voice chat and even make calls directly from their devices. Players will have some pop-up chat options around with just a tap on the C button, available for interaction with friends during play.

The microphone is built into the console featuring full communication with voice chat options. Furthermore, voice chat is helped by three-dimensional surround sound to make the gaming experience even that much more immersive.

Hardware-wise, the Switch 2 showcases a larger 7.2-inch screen, offering players greater latitude to enjoy their favorite games. And that large screen? Well, this new Switch 2 is thinner than ever and even portable. It continues the tradition of two USB-C ports and 256GB of internal storage, while an all-new dock allows for HDR and 4K gaming when connected to the TV.

Nintendo, one-time rival of Sony and more recently of Microsoft, has announced an interesting slate of third-party games for Switch 2, including Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, Hitman World of Assassination, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, and Project 007, a new take on Goldeneye. Fans of classic Nintendo franchises can look forward to Donkey Kong Bonanza and others yet to come.

Launch on June 5, 2025, with pre-orders starting on April 9. In an awkward silence stream, it did not reveal the price; however, the press release later revealed that it would sell for $449.99 in the USA.
