KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said that the government is in talks with Beijing in bringing back Malaysians who are currently in Wuhan and Hubei province.
A total of 78 Malaysians are said to be currently stranded in the Hubei province. They are currently restricted on leaving Wuhan as of the moment.
“They cannot leave Wuhan (as of the moment). We are in talks with the Chinese government to bring back our citizens who are not ill, back to Malaysia.” Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said at a press conference today.
The quarantine period will be for 14 days. Upon their return, they will be monitored and examined for possible display of the coronavirus symptoms. After all the procedures, they will be allowed back to the respective households. The government for the meantime will send masks, gloves and food supplies to the stranded citizens if allowed by the Chinese government.
