River Hongbao 2026 Continues with “Giant God of Fortune” at Gardens by the Bay (Ongoing until Feb 18)

Singapore’s most iconic Lunar New Year festival, River Hongbao 2026, is currently lighting up Gardens by the Bay with a spectacular display of culture and tradition. In honor of its 40 th year, the festival has attracted thousands of people who look forward to the reappearance of the huge lantern installations. Even though the festival continues till February 24, the much-hyped nightly fireworks, which is one of the most important events during the “Spring Blossoms” celebration, is only planned to be held until February 18. This is a pyrotechnic performance that can be seen only partially during the first few days of the event, so it is impossible to miss the event by both family members and photographers.

Giant God of Fortune Blesses Visitors

The centerpiece of this year’s festival is undoubtedly the Giant God of Fortune. This grand lantern is the biggest of the Supertree Groves, and an icon of good fortune, and a popular place to take photographs with those who attend the festival. In contrast to earlier versions, the 2026 version includes elaborate animatronics, which throws gold ingots (virtually) to those who are lucky to be caught in the act. Alongside the deity, River Hongbao 2026 features a 150-meter-long dragon lantern and interactive exhibits tracing the event’s four-decade history.

Fireworks at Gardens by the Bay

The nightly fireworks at Gardens by the Bay have been choreographed to sync with traditional Chinese orchestra music, creating a multisensory experience. As the pyrotechnics come to an end on February 18, people are urged to rush to The Meadow to see the end of this blasting celebration of the Year of the Horse.
