The COVID-19 pandemic is not just about taking lives. It also took the livelihood of countless Filipinos across Luzon, which put the spread of coronavirus under enhanced group quarantine.
Some of the hardest hit by this situation are the daily wage earners, as well as those working in the retail and food sectors. Many who work for the live event industry, farmers in the provinces and even surf instructors in tourist destinations are also affected.
For live event professionals Because of live event cancellations, thousands of people in all fields of the live event industry have endured financial distress right now.
Although most are riding out this situation with their savings, there are some who have lost what little remains of their funds from diseases and ailments long before the cancelation of events associated with COVID.
They are also their family’s primary breadwinners who depend heavily on a steady stream of live events because they are paid on a per-project basis and are not compensated by an employer’s advance payments.
In the live event industry, this delicate category includes production assistants, maintenance personnel, technical assistants and freelance employees who help make a show run smoothly. We have no work security, and are currently in need of medical care. They need our support right now, because they are facing months of uncertainty.
Often affected are roadies, or the individuals who assist musicians and event managers during live shows. These are professionals whose careers were threatened because they depend on the various gigs and concerts to earn a living.
To support the roadies, Indie Manila and Red Ninja Productions have launched a GoGetFunding project in collaboration with Roadie Superstar, Director Juno Oebanda, to help raise funds for the roads.

For farmers in Quezon province they always been the top agricultural-producing province of various farm products in the Calabarzon area (Area 4-A), which groups the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon provinces.
The average cost of palay output is at P12 per kilo. In other rice-growing areas of the world, people from the mountains say some wholesalers there buy farm-gate palay at only P8 per kilo, stealthily citing what is happening in some areas of Luzon.
As we face this COVID-19 pandemic, we are all subject to increased group quarantine within the protection of our homes, but our farmers continue to work for us to provide adequate supplies for the com
Like our backliners, the aim of this project is to provide them with health security, as they are often exposed to the virus as they function.
They have been overlooked many times but they are crucial in our survival of this crisis with our current situation.
The project aims to be able to provide protective equipment such as reusable masks, multivitamins, ascorbic acid tablets, measles, fever and cough medication, which will lessen our farmers ‘concern about being infected with the virus at work.
Any amount of help would be perfect.

For surf instructors in Baler, In light of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon brought on by the growing cases of people infected with coronavirus disease, many provinces have requested lockdown or travel restrictions in their regions, including Aurora.
This has caused many of the surf instructors to suffer as their main income relies on tourism.
A group of ardent surf students would like to seek support in reaching out to those affected in the Sabang Beach surfing area.
P100 is the supported sum of the donation and will be part of a joint fund used by Aurora Surf Riders Association Incorporat to buy food packages for surf instructors and their families.
