For the past few weeks many speculations and rumors were circulated regarding the new captain of the Indian Test cricket team after the seasoned player Rohit Sharma stepped down from his Test career and responsibilities. The forecast of Shubman Gill becoming the captain has turned out to be true today.
Well, it wasn’t convincing for many experts as the team had experienced players like Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant. All of them have the experience of leading the team too but criticisms were thrown at the BCCI officials for considering Gill over them.
While, at the other end of the controversy the experts claim that it is a good approach by the BCCI as the team need a leader who can navigate them for a long run and build a strong team for future tournaments.
