An Singapore-bound Air India flight returns to Delhi on Thursday after it received a mid-air fire warning that led to an immediate safety measure. Flight AI 2380 on the Air India Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner had left the Indira Gandhi International Airport carrying approximately 190 passengers on board when a technical alert in the cockpit was sent, related to the auxiliary power unit of the plane.
The pilot chose to go back to Delhi as a precautionary measure after the warning. The plane landed without injuries and safely. Air India assured that the usual safety measures were taken and passengers were helped on landing. Another flight was later ordered to carry the passengers to Singapore. The airline apologized for the inconvenience but it underscored that the safety of its passengers is its first priority.
