‘Step up and lead UMNO’, Tok Mat tells Zahid

PETALING JAYA – Umno deputy president Mohamad Hasan said that Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi  must provide guidance and clear directions so the party can keep up the alliances in the wake of the Sabah election.

Mohamad said that a political consensus must be provided to calm, avoid dissatisfaction and anger from the members over the way the party was treated in the recent Sabah Elections.

He added that if UMNO stands on it’s owen with PAS in Muafakat Nasional and BN along with its components in facing the next general election, then they can prepare.

Mohamad also suggested for the party to reconsider its polical strategy after the party was now considered in Sabah as a small-time player

The result in the last State Election showed that the party’s strategy did not benefit the people. The part needs to re-think their approach.

Tok Mat also said that UMNO’s give its strongest seat to other parties affected its strenght and influence significantly.

He further added that the party must stop reminiscing about the political alliance in the “Sheraton move”. According to him, the episode is over and that UMNO should lead the nation and create a better Malaysia. He encourage the party to bring back UMNO’s influence and strength in politic as they will be judged on what they can offer to the country and no we they compromised to certain parties or government.
