MANILA – Philippine National Police deputy chief for administration and Joint Task Force COVID shield commander Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar clarified that residents from areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) who are planning to visit Tagaytay will still required to present a travel pass.
The clarification came in after Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor Remulla announced that agaytay is open to tourists even without a travel pass.
Eleazar said that local tourist from areas under GCQ, modified enhanced community quarantine and enhanced community quarantine would still be required to provide a travel authority issued by the government.
He added that currently, only residents under modified GCQ can visit tagaytay without a travel pass. He then urged the local government to include travel authority as a requirement for the visitor to further curb the spread of the virus.
Applicants must present a health certificate that they are not infected by Covid-19.
In a post on Facebook on Wednesday, Remulla announced that Tagaytay will be opening to tourist from Metro Manila and other provinces.
He then apologized for his earlier statement saying that it was only in reaction to the Philippine National Police deputy chief’s directive.
All restaurants in Tagaytay City will be subjected to IATF guidelines. The maximum occupancy of accredited hotels is only 50% capacity. Such as allowing only one person at a hotel room at a time. Remulla also cautioned the people to strictly practice social distancing and wearing of masks as we are still under the quarantine system.
