Three people rescued from a burning speed boat in Zamboanga City

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the fourth armed and uniformed service of the Philippines, rescued three people from a burning boat in Zamboanga, a city in the Philippines.

The speed boat, carrying three people, caught fire in the waters off Zamboanga City. Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) revealed that the boat departed from Marias, Baliwasan Seaside, Zamboanga City.

PCG said that the speed boat ‘Fadi Laminusa Express’ caught fire from the fuel tank and battery on Thursday. The crew wanted to conduct a sea trial when they noticed a fire. Later on, PCG sent a team to stop the fire.

After rescuing those people, the Coast Guard Medical Clinic-Southwestern Mindanao provided them with immediate care. The three people sustained first-degree burns because of the accident.

Last month, a Philippine passenger boat overturned because of strong winds in Laguna Lake southeast of Manila, the capital of the Philippines. At least 21 people died because of the accident. The authorities also rescued 40 people from the boat.

The Rizal provincial police launched a rescue operation to save people. Sea travel was also suspended in many ports.
