On August 8, 2025, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a historic peace agreement at the White House, ending decades of conflict. While former U.S. President Donald Trump played a mediation role, the UAE’s involvement was crucial in preparing the ground for dialogue and trust between the nations.
The White House shared an update from its official X account:

The UAE provided a neutral platform that allowed the leaders to engage directly. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s vision and diplomacy were central to this success, demonstrating the UAE’s growing influence as a mediator in regional conflicts.
The United States formally recognised the UAE’s contribution to the peace process. The U.S. mission in the UAE praised Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for facilitating the talks in Abu Dhabi.
