These upcoming K-Dramas will be released in May 2025

If you happen to breathe K-drama, then your ‘May 2025’ will most likely be well-rendered into a month! Romantic sagas, revenge thrillers, emotional roller coasters-there is everything for every mood in the Korean drama line-up.

1. Dear Hongrang (16 May | Netflix)

  • Starring: Lee Jae-wook, Jo Bo-ah
  • Genre: Period romance, mystery

Dear Hongrang set the stage in the Joseon period for beautiful packing of secrets, emotions, and forbidden love. Jo Bo-ah plays a brave woman who is on the trail of the whereabouts of her missing stepbrother, the one played by Lee Jae-Wook. This is Jae-wook’s first proper historical drama, and he has laboriously tried to sink deeply into the tone of that period.

2. Nine Puzzles (21 May | Disney+)

  • Genre: Crime, thriller

An exciting revenge story where a woman profiles after her uncle is killed. Years later, the murders happen again, with all but one marked by a piece of puzzle. This drama with an unbelievable cast and chilling plot creates a good promise to keep suspense till the last minute.

3. Our Unwritten Seoul (24 May | Netflix)

  • Genre: Romance, identity-swap drama

Twin sisters switch lives and discover hidden truths, dreams, and unexpected romance. With the star power and the emotional depth, it has already created a great buzz.

A K-pop idol who becomes a college student assembles a band, to find and re-kindle love in a magical world of music. Light, fresh, and brimming with youth atmospheres, it is a great watch for fans of some feel-good drama.

5. Tastefully Yours (12 May | Netflix)

  • Starring: Kang Ha-neul, Go Min-si
  • Genre: Romantic Comedy

A sea heir of the city and a fiery chef of the village clash in the kitchen, and maybe this is where love blossoms for them. This drama is for those who love food, flavor, and some slow-burn romance.

6. Second Shot at Love (12 May | tvN)

  • Starring: Choi Soo-young, Gong Myung
  • Genre: Romantic Drama

A woman who is an alcoholic reunites with her first love, a doctor who despises alcohol. A truly mature drama about second chances in love and life.

7. Shark 2: The Storm (15 May | TVING)

Follow a troubled MMA fighter fresh off prison. With brutal actions and emotional depth, this is one for those who like action and have a soft side.

8. Oh My Ghost Clients (30 May | MBC)

  • Genre: Supernatural comedy

What if a lawyer could see ghosts? Lots of clamor and ruckus with lots of laughter, and heartwarming stories of ghosts, too. Quirky and fun!

9. Good Boy (31 May | Amazon Prime Video)

  • Type: Sports action drama

Once ex-Olympians now turned cops, they use their athletic skills to bust crimes. With some serious emotional backstory and intense action, this drama is all-set to give a good punch.
