The proposal aims to formally recognize the logistics sector as a critical component of the national economy, shifting the perception of logistics from a mere support activity to a high value-added service essential for Vietnam’s competitiveness.

Currently, Vietnam’s logistics sector contributes significantly to the GDP, yet it faces challenges such as high operational costs and fragmented infrastructure. By establishing a dedicated Vietnam Logistics Day, the government intends to create a focal point for policy dialogue, international cooperation, and infrastructure investment. The project aims at bringing resources to ensure the logistics costs are minimized to 11-12 percent of the GDP, which will increase competitiveness of the Vietnamese products in the international markets.
