“Every beginning has an ending”, today is one such end to the wonderful and resilient test career of a legend who is fondly called as ‘King’ and ‘Chase Master’, Virat Kohli announced his retirement from international test cricket. Following the retirement announcement of Indian Skipper Rohit Sharma from his test career, one of the best batsmen in world cricket, Kohli stepped down from his long journey which he began in 2011 on 20th June, against West Indies at Sabina Park. A young boy who entered into the world of test cricket with the passion and a goal of making 10,000 runs in this format.

Virat is known for his aggression and heated emotions that he expresses on the field, but he is the one of the finest batters with a calm composure to handle a nail biting and a heart throbbing matches which became a victory to team India from cliff-hanger moments. - Virat Kohli has registered seven double centuries as Captain which is the most by any Indian skipper or even by an international captain.
- He is the first player to score double centuries in 4 consecutive series against – England, New Zealand, West Indies, and Bangladesh.
- In 65 innings, Kohli reached the 4,000 runs as a captain.
- He holds the prestigious achievement of becoming the ‘Only Indian Player’ to score 200 in a day-night pink ball test of that time.
- It was against South Africa in 2019.
- Virat is the first ever Indian captain to win a test series against Australia which took place between 2018-19.
- He became the first Indian player to register 3 hundreds consecutively in a test series against Australia (2014-15)
