SINGAPORE – Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan reassured his Chinese counterpart that Singapore will continue to look after the well-being of the migrant workers, including the necessary medical care.

Dr Balakrishnan spoke to Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi over the phone yesterday and they expressed appreciation for the mutual support and effective collaboration between Singapore and China during this pandemic.

Both ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to maintain ties such as medical, food and other supply chain connectivity, and the continued enhancement of regional and international cooperation. Singapore’s largest active cluster remains the S11 Dormitory in Punggol, with large groups of foreign workers testing positive for the coronavirus.
