Today Imran Khan was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for corruption and corrupt practices related to a land deal during his premiership from 2018 to 2022. He and his wife were found guilty of receiving land from a real estate developer in exchange for illegal favors. The court also ordered the confiscation of the land which is involved in owning it illegally.
Imran Khan’s corruption case centers on allegations that he and his wife, Bushra Bibi, received land from a real estate developer during his time in office. Prosecutors argue that this land transfer was part of a quid pro quo arrangement where Khan provided illegal favors in exchange for the property. Importantly they claim that he received 60 acres of land near Islamabad and another significant plot close to his mansion located in the capital.
