World Government Summit 2024: Shaping Future Governments in Dubai

The World Government Summit, the largest and most prestigious global event on government innovation and transformation, is scheduled to take place from February 12 to 14 in Dubai, with the theme ‘Shaping Future Governments‘. 

The summit aims to foster discussions among governments, international organizations, thought leaders, and private sector leaders to enhance international cooperation and equip governments with innovative tools to address the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

The Summit’s Agenda and Highlights

The summit’s agenda and highlights include:

  • Keynote speeches and panel discussions by over 25 world leaders, such as the UN Secretary-General, the IMF Managing Director, the WHO Director-General, and the presidents and prime ministers of France, Germany, India, Japan, and South Korea, among others. The speakers will share their insights and perspectives on the current and future trends and issues that affect governments and societies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, digital transformation, social inclusion, and global governance.
  • Workshops and sessions by over 140 governments and 85 international organizations, such as the World Bank, the OECD, the WEF, and the UNDP, among others. The workshops and sessions will showcase and exchange best practices and solutions on various topics and sectors, such as education, health, economy, security, and innovation. The workshops and sessions will also facilitate networking and collaboration among the participants and stakeholders, and create opportunities for partnerships and projects.
  • Exhibitions and demonstrations by over 500 companies and startups, such as Microsoft, Google, IBM, and Tesla, among others. The exhibitions and demonstrations will display and introduce the latest and most advanced technologies and products that can enhance and transform the performance and efficiency of governments and public services, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, biotechnology, and smart cities.

The summit’s host and vision are:

  • The host: The summit is hosted by the UAE, under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The UAE is a leading and pioneering country in government innovation and transformation, and has ranked first in the Arab region and among the top 10 in the world in the UN E-Government Survey 2020. The UAE is also a hub and a model for regional and international cooperation and development, and has hosted the summit since its inception in 2013.
  • The vision: The summit’s vision is to shape the future of governments and societies, by inspiring and empowering them to adopt and implement innovative and sustainable solutions that can improve the lives and well-being of the people and the planet. The summit’s vision is also to create a global community and platform that can foster dialogue, knowledge, and action among the governments and the stakeholders, and to support the achievement of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its 17 goals.

The World Government Summit 2024 is a landmark and a milestone event that will bring together the world’s leaders and experts to shape the future of governments and societies.
