Meralco August 2026 Refund

Electricity consumers in the Philippines are getting financial assistance on their bills. Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has started applying its customer rebate of ₱9.51 billion, as per an Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) order. Knowing what the Meralco AWAT line item is on the bill, it is easy to check if your bill has been deducted for Meralco’s August 2026 refund.

This guide explains the working of the Meralco savings calculator, how the rate is calculated and how to see the rebate on your Meralco bill.

What Is the Meralco AWAT Line Item?

The refund for the Actual Weighted Average Tariff is the result of a regulatory true-up process on a January 1-December 31, 2025, basis. In this period, Meralco’s real distribution charges were higher than the ERC-approved distribution tariff because of the consumption of residential electricity in the period.

How to Compute Your Meralco August 2026 Refund

To find the amount the bills may be deducted from your monthly income you will need to know how much electricity you use every month in kilowatt hours (kWh). The residential refund rate for residential customers is ₱0.5861 per kWh.

Step-by-Step Meralco Savings Calculator Formula

Use this simple math formula to estimate your deduction:

Monthly Savings (₱) = Total Monthly kWh Consumption × ₱0.5861

Here is a quick look at how much typical households save each month based on electricity usage:

  • 100 kWh Consumption: 100 × ₱0.5861 = ₱58.61 credit
  • 200 kWh Consumption: 200 × ₱0.5861 = ₱117.22 credit
  • 300 kWh Consumption: 300 × ₱0.5861 = ₱175.83 credit
  • 500 kWh Consumption: 500 × ₱0.5861 = ₱293.05 credit

Because this deduction applies automatically as a Meralco electricity bill refund, customers do not need to fill out any application forms or submit refund requests.
