The seating position at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit can have a significant influence during race day. The 5.543 kilometre track designed by Hermann Tilke features several different viewing options: long straights, heavy braking sections on the track and fast corners.

For comfort and pit-lane action, you can’t go wrong with the Main Grandstand. The covered North side looking at the starting grid, pit lane and team garages, is perfect for pit stop viewing, grid traffic and podium festivities. The South section has a straight and endless view at the back that leads up to the final hairpin in the Back track.

Turn 1’s K1 Grandstand is one of the most action-packed races for fans who want to see the riders cross the finish line in front of them. Vehicles have been stacking up at high speed from the main straight before hitting hard brakes for the first corner. Spectators are also able to view Turns 2 & 3 from inside of K1 as well as the pit exit area.

The F Grandstand, located around Turns 7, 8, offers a sweet location at a reasonable price. Its purposes are to cover the sun in Malaysia and give protection from the tropical rain to the spectators, while providing views of the cars driving through the shape of a double-apex.

The C2 Hillstands offer open-air viewing and the broader panoramic views while the B Hillstands have open views. From C2, you can see some sections of the turn 9 – 14 landscaped section, and from B you can see the hairpin at turn 15, but before cars accelerate onto the main straight.

In general, the Main Grandstand offers up the best pit action and support, K1 has the best views for overtaking and race action, F has covered value while offering the best panoramic, and C2/B offers up panoramic views at a lower price. Fans who select areas without cover are advised to expect sun and tropical downpour showers.
