In the most recent announcement, AirlineRatings.com declared the Airasian as the top airline for 2025 as the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline. The recognition signifies AirAsia’s commitment to superior service delivery through a well-developed route network and strict safety measures including seven-star safety ratings. AirAsia began in 2001 with two planes but now over 800 million guests have been carried since with more than 130 destinations covered in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Cambodia.
In celebration of this triumph and to further stimulate tourism, AirAsia has launched an unprecedented promotion offering up to 15 million free seats across its extensive network. The initiative aims at facilitating affordable travel for both new and seasoned travelers to promote their exploration of diverse destinations. The free seats can be booked via airasia.com or the AirAsia MOVE app from February 15th to February 23th 2025 for travel dates between July 1st 2025 and June 15th 2026.
Amanda Woo, Chief Commercial Officer of AirAsia Aviation Group expressed enthusiasm about the promotion: “We are thrilled to kick off the year on a strong note by offering up to 15 million guaranteed promotional seats, preparing our guests to plan their travels and vacations for the second half of the year up until 2026.”
AirAsia has made a move in line with its ongoing efforts to support government tourism initiatives such as the ‘Visit Malaysia Year 2025’ campaign to boost tourism growth across the region. By introducing an enormous number of free seats to riders, AirAsia has proven to be committed to ensuring that air travel is within everyone’s reach at the same time mainstreaming quality service and safety.
