Alleged Budi Arie Questioned by the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit

Budi Arie, the former Indonesian Minister of Communication and Informatics has notably served in the other departments of the government including department of disadvantaged regions, villages, and transmigration. In 2024, stratified allegations were imposed against the veteran politician Budie Arie that he had the authority to eradicate the employees and other officials who received the bribes from the online gambling operators. 

On November 22, 2024 he gave a statement regarding this, “From the moment I took office, I already suspected there were people involved… We implemented rotations every three months because I knew things weren’t clean internally”

“For instance, money is distributed among ten people, then split to five, then three and finally one”, he added.

On Thursday (December 19, 2024), the Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortas) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, took former Minister Budi Arie for investigations over his allegations. It is reported that he has given a positive approach to the investigation which is still going on since 10.00 WIB. Around twenty alleged employees who received bribes had been arrested previously.
